Our favorite deck project last year, this 650sf deck is all composite - decking, railings and stairs - for long lasting beauty. Composite materials, a mix of wood and plastic, have a beautiful, soft appearance, and are guaranteed against rot, splitting, checking, warping, etc., problems that are common in wood decks. Maintenace is virtually zero. No painting, staining, or sanding are needed. Stewart Barker Builder, LLC is skilled in working with composite materials to bring you a beautiful, 'no maintenance' deck.

When a deck has deteriorated beyond a certain point, replacing it is the only option. This job began with the demolition of the old deck and removal of the rubbish. Then the new deck and stairs could be built in place. The white clapbords on the building are pre-primed replacements and will be stained to match in the Spring.

When this lovely home in Brookline was completed a number of years ago, the deck was only partially finished. Completed in the Spring of 2003, this addition was blended in to the existing deck and railing system. New stairs were added and a roll down awning for those hot August afternoons.

With a great view of the West River, this was a neat project.
