New Home - Weston, VT

Begun late in 2003, Stewart Barker-Builder recently completed
building a new home high on a mountainside ridge in beautiful Weston, VT.

The lot has been cleared, the concrete foundation excavated and poured. The foundation damp-proofing coating has been applied to one wall. The 'bump out' you see in the foundation is to support the brick chimney, which will be installed at a later date.

The rim joist has been put on the foundation, the floor joists for the cellar/first floor have been installed, along with the needed support columns in the basement. The first floor plywood decking is being installed.

The first floor exterior walls have been erected, and the rim joist is in place for the second floor. Exterior plywood sheathing is being applied, and the door and window openings have been cut out.

The second floor joists and plywood decking have been installed. Now the rafters for the main roof and the south side dormer are laid out, cut and installed.

The house is now done and the owners have taken possession.
